A. LAYER OBSESSION
I. In my studio, I’m working on a layered painting of the now extinct Jaws ride at Universal Orlando. The following are the first 8 iterations, each with a shark cast from matte medium.
II. One day in Pittsburgh I tried taking a photograph of every flight at the airport and made drawings of each. Here are a few:
III. Then there was the time I painted 49 animal portraits to memorialize this surreal thing that happened in Ohio where a suicidal menagerie owner released all his exotic animals into the suburbs of Ohio and they all had to be killed. On the one year anniversary of the event I held an event in which I made the portraits into paper lanterns and released them at a gun range. A few of the portraits and photographs follow:

I. The following are from a series I did titled Soldiers as Travelers in which I isolated individual soldiers from historical battles and placed them amongst expressionistic backgrounds.
